Kit Harington received a text from a Game of Thrones actor regarding the possibility of joining the Jon Snow spin-off titled ‘Better Call Davos’.

Davos Seaworth is searching for a voyage back to Westeros, and it seems that actor Liam Cunningham is all in for bringing back his beloved character, the Onion Knight. While discussing his upcoming movie, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, which is inspired by Dracula, he revealed that he reached out to Kit Harington, the star of Game of Thrones, about the possibility of Davos joining the highly anticipated spin-off series centered around Jon Snow. In a lighthearted manner, Cunningham shared that he jokingly sent Harington a text saying, “Better Call Davos,” making a playful reference to the Breaking Bad spin-off, Better Call Saul. However, he admitted that he hasn’t received a response yet and humorously added that he might show up again if the paycheck is substantial enough.

Davos played a prominent role in Game of Thrones, starting off as the Hand of Stannis Baratheon before becoming an advisor to Jon Snow in the final seasons. The confirmation of a Jon Snow-based spin-off came from George R.R. Martin himself in 2022, with Harington playing a pivotal role in initiating the idea. The series, tentatively titled Snow, delves into the aftermath of Snow’s exile to the North, where he is seen briefly with a group of wildlings and his loyal direwolf, Ghost. This exile comes as a consequence of Snow killing his lover and aunt, Queen Daenerys Targaryen, in the show’s finale.

Drawing an interesting parallel, Cunningham sees Game of Thrones as a franchise similar to Star Wars, envisioning its potential to capture the interest of viewers for many years. He speculates that the show will be rediscovered by future generations, much like the periodic resurgence of interest in the character of Dracula. Comparing it to Star Wars, he admits that while some entries in the long-standing sci-fi saga have been of great quality, others have fallen short. Game of Thrones, however, holds a special place in people’s fascination and he hopes it continues to thrive in the years to come.

Though Cunningham is enthusiastic about the prospect of reprising his role as Davos, it should be noted that the Snow spin-off is not yet confirmed. As with previous Game of Thrones spin-off attempts that never made it to the screen, the project could still fall apart. Fans eagerly await any updates on the development of this potential continuation of the Game of Thrones universe.
